Beatha Líadain
popular
Líadain was born in seventh century Ireland and enjoyed nothing more than crafting poems and whiling away the hours with her love, Cuirithir. However, she happened to suffer from a disease nicknamed by her friend “The Virgin Mary Complex”. In short, she was wracked with sexual guilt, and redeemed herself in the eyes of the Lord by joining a nunnery, leaving Cuirithir distraught and alone and with no other option but to become a monk himself.
Líadain died young, and the surprisingly forward-thinking nuns had her body cryogenically frozen (this practice dates back to the ancient Egyptians). She was revived in Chicago, Illinois in 2001 and discovered with immense joy that Cuirithir had also been cryogenically preserved (and had also died young, thankfully), revived, and was living in Dublin and working as a software developer. She relocated at once and is now practicing what she considers “reverse-redemption” for her betrayal – she is a raging nymphomaniac and an atheist.
She still enjoys crafting poems, but has changed much due to the culture shock of the twenty-first century; her presence in the world is anachronistic, and her activities often combine long ago practices with modern day trends. Her newfound passion is piracy, and the nearby Irish Sea offers ample opportunities to sail and plunder, but her friends claim she only became a pirate in order to indulge her secret pleasure: swabbing the poop deck. During the quiet hours while her boat is merely floating alone on the waves, she enjoys reading, writing, crocheting, snapping photographs, listening to music on her iPod, and twirling her moustache.

'An Unrepentant Communist..'
http://unrepentantcommunist.blogspot.com/ is a blog which is NOT purely political the title being a quote referring to Bertholt Brecht when he lived in the USA. It is about attempting to apply socialist ideas and principles to the modern Ireland we live in, with humour compassion and an appetite for justice.

a cat is a cat...
I live on the side of a hill in a tiny village down a river in a valley in county Wicklow. My house use to be a Tea rooms and if you drop by I will make you a cup of tea, but it's up to you to bring the biscuits. I suggest Mcvities Rich Tea, as these go lovely with a cup of tea.
I like: owls, words like `yachts', skiffle music, taking pictures of clouds, marmalade and when dogs yawn and sound like they are saying something. I once heard a small terrier yawn the name `Philip', seriously... he said 'Philip'.

Add To My Book
I'm trying to create something new, something different. I have started to write a book which all going well will hopefully become a film. I want the book/film to become what The Commitments, The Van, The Snapper did for Irish film; something Roddy Doyle would be proud of. I would like everyone to add thier paragraph, chapter, story, guidance or just their thoughts on the story so far. Email me: addtomybook@gmail.com. Here it goes and happy writing. Schooner

Afrik'Art
Afrik'Art is an organisation specialized in importing and selling original and unique works of art from Africa. We are based in Ireland. We are currently importing most of our goods from Ivory Coast as we know very well this country and its great culture. We intend to broaden our suppliers to other countries in the coming years. We can offer you a large range of unique handmade crafts: masks, figurines, Ebony statues, cast bronze statues, clothes. We can also import some special goods upon your request thanks to the close relationship that we developed with our suppliers. We do our best to provide the highest quality products, and concentrate on finding items with great appearance and condition. We select all our items individually from our suppliers. All our suppliers are talented artists living in Africa. We met face to face with all the suppliers making sure that the products are of high quality. We have a strong relationship with all our suppliers. We purchase all our products from low-income artists at fair prices. .
